DREAMLIKE GEOMETRIES

We're introducing the new clothes of the most famous pair of corkscrews in Italian design. The attraction of the lights, colours and mosaic vaults of the small mausoleum in Ravenna, dedicated to the Roman empress Galla Placidia, has inspired Alessandro Mendini. He created an iridescent play of shapes and colours, striking for the rigour of its geometries in contrast to its vivid and dreamy hues. In this unprecedented application, the unique dress inspired by expressive art enhances the soft and delicate design of the two corkscrews.

This limited edition corkscrew is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Alessi, being part of the Values Collection.

Refined - The clothes of the two most famous design portraits in Alessi’s history are embellished with a historic decoration by Mendini that enhances their design and ability to change.

Easy to use

Place the corkscrew on the bottleneck, ensuring that the levers are in the rest position. Screw-in the corkscrew head by turning it clockwise, leaving the levers free to move into the vertical position. Lower the levers to remove the cork from the bottle. Remove the cork from the steel worm by holding the levers in the rest position and turning the head counterclockwise. The final extraction of the cork can be facilitated by bringing the levers to a vertical position.

The first twenty years of an icon

A best seller since it was first produced in 1994, the Anna G. corkscrew is a tongue-in-cheek homage to a real woman. Her smiling face has become something of a cult figure over the years, giving birth (so to speak) to a rich family of objects for the table and kitchen in a wide range of materials.

Alberto Alessi

“A true design work must move people, convey emotions, bring back memories, surprise, and go against common thinking.”

The Dream Factory

Since its establishment in 1921, Alessi has gradually evolved, becoming a leading exponent of the “Factories of Italian design”, capable of mediating between the most interesting expressions of international creativity and the public, society and the market. Its mission is to translate these creative expressions into real objects capable of fulfilling dreams and satisfying the public’s desires.

Art & Poetry

Alessi’s commitment is to translate the search for the most advanced cultural, aesthetic, executive and functional quality into industrial mass production. It has been called a “Factory of dreams” and its aim is to respond, with its products, to the need for happiness, for Art and Poetry, a need shared by the whole of mankind.

Extra Ordinary

Making the ordinary extraordinary. Creating everyday objects that are interesting and desirable, where aesthetics, functionality and quality find their balance in a cultural and emotional dimension that charms and surprises.

B-Corp

Alessi is part of a global movement of companies that, going beyond the goal of profit, see business as a tool to positively influence the community. B Corps are companies convinced that their final aim is more than mere profit. They work to maximise their positive impact on their employees, the communities in which they operate and the environment, using business as a regenerating force for society and for the well-being of the planet. Alessi sees being a B Corp as a way of translating its long-standing way of “doing business” into a formal and recognisable certification.

Quality

Since 1921, the year in which the firm was established, most Alessi objects have been created via cold processing of the metals and, even today, are still made in Italy by highly skilled craftsmen at the factory in Crusinallo, Omegna. In recent decades, Alessi has also included many other materials in its catalogue, such as wood, porcelain, glass, plastic, etc. Strict quality standards are applied to each of them, with constant mediation between the technological complexity of industrial production and the attention to details typical of craftsmanship.
